THE HOPETOWN PROGRAM CONTAINS 4 MAIN SEGMENTS:

  • Snack Time (Full meal served right after school)

  • Reading & Homework assistance

  • Life Skills (Separate segments for K-2nd and 3rd-5th)

  • Character Building (All Ages)  **Includes content from the Bible

LIFE SKILLS BEING OFFERED IN 2018-2019:

  • CRAFTS/CONSTRUCTION:  Craft projects and small construction projects that are creative and fun.

  • CULINARY:  Learn the basics of cooking and preparing meals, as well as kitchen techniques.

  • MUSIC/DRAMA:  Learning and playing different musical instruments, as well as puppets, skits, and creative script writing.

  • SCIENCE LAB:  Fun and educational experiments and projects taught by a certified science teacher.

BASIC SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

4:00 - 4:20 - Arrival, Snack Time

4:20 - 4:50 - Life Skills (Group 1) Reading & Homework assistance (Group 2)

4:50 - 5:20 - Life Skills (Group 2), Reading & Homework assistance (Group 1)

5:20 - 5:30 - Character Building Lesson

IMPORTANT INFORMATION PARENTS NEED TO KNOW:

  1. All Hopetown staff have submitted to and passed a criminal background check.

  2. NE Elementary is secured during the Hopetown program, preventing unauthorized entry.

  3. Several of our Hopetown staff are trained in first-aid, and we are well equipped to handle minor incidents, in the unlikely event that they occur.

  4. Your child will ride home on a JPS School Bus, leaving the school promptly at 5:00 p.m.
